The Most Holy Trinity, a model and

pattern for our love and relationships

This weekend we celebrate the great mystery of our faith, the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. It is a celebration that draws us into the very heart of God: One God in Three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Though this mystery is beyond our full human understanding, it is not beyond our experience. In fact, it lies at the center of our Christian life.

The Trinity is a communion of love. The Father loves the Son, the Son loves the Father, and this love is so perfect, so complete, that it is itself a Person, the Holy Spirit. This is a beautiful image of mutual self-giving and unity! This divine relationship is not an isolated or closed off, but outward facing, inviting us to participate in that same love.

This divine love and communion offers us a great model for our own relationships, especially within our families. We are made in the image of God, called to live in relationship, in mutual love, respect, and unity. In our homes, we are invited to reflect the love of the Trinity: love that cares, listens, gives, forgives, and endures.

This connection takes on special meaning today as we also celebrate Father’s Day. Our fathers, whether biological, adoptive, spiritual, or paternal figures in our lives, are called to reflect something of the love of the heavenly Father, steadfast, protective, life-giving, and self-sacrificing. Fatherhood, like all true love, is not about domination or control, but about presence, patience, and faithful love and service.

To all the fathers in our parish community: thank you. Thank you for your sacrifices, your guidance, and your love. We honor you today and pray that God may continue to strengthen and bless you in your vocation. May your example draw others closer to God, just as Jesus revealed the Father’s love to the world.

As we celebrate this mystery of the Trinity and the gift of fatherhood, let us renew and deepen our commitment to live in love, unity, and communion, with God, with our families, and with one another. Let the bond of divine love be our inspiration, guide and strength.

Blessings of Peace and Joy Always!
